Every Tuesday in San Jose’s Santana Row, the Hunger at Home team isn’t shopping or dining out; they’re collecting unused, edible food from over half a dozen restaurants. This initiative, driven partly by a new state law, aims to combat the staggering 92 billion pounds of food wasted annually in the U.S. From upscale eateries to large venues like Levi’s Stadium, Hunger at Home partners with local businesses to reduce waste and and feed the hungry. Through these efforts, Hunger at Home fulfills their mission of turning surplus food into a vital resource for community support.
